Andraé L. Brown, Ph.D., LMFT

Andraé L. Brown, Ph.D., LMFT, professional career highlights include serving as professor at Hunter College, NY and Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR. He has also served as the Co-director of Affinity Counseling Group in NJ, and a member of several national boards. Dr. Brown is also a recipient of the 2014 Early Career Award from the American Family Therapy Academy.

Dr. Brown’s entrepreneurial spirit has lead him to start several business designed to bring a critical, empowerment, and social justice based framework to the fields of mental health, education, public policy, sports and entertainment. He currently resides in Washington, DC area where he operates Heru Consulting, an independent clinical, research and consulting practice and is a Visiting Associate Professor at Howard University.

Dr. Brown earned his B.S. in psychology at Elizabeth City State University (NC), his M.Ed. in school counseling at the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore, and his Ph.D. in marriage and family therapy at Seton Hall University (NJ).
